The first 2018 Window to the Universe evening features popular Taylor lecturer Tim Gill, returning to the Taylor lectern for his 5th talk. The topic this month, “Infinity and Astronomy”, is right up Tim’s alley, given his career in teaching math.
Over the holidays, a new outdoor Star Deck was completed and very soon, we’ll take delivery of our custom-designed 18″ F 3.7 Dobsonian telescope from Teeter Telescopes. Its mirror is currently undergoing testing in New Jersey before shipment to Taylor. Our particular 18″ mirror is one of the best ever produced by the company.
Importantly, on Saturday we’ll welcome Taylor’s favorite solar system expert Eduardo Alatorre back after a 3-month stay with family over the holidays.
As always we’ll be excited to have you join us.
On February 24 we anticipate a talk on Near Earth Objects (NEO’s) by Bill Haddon, highlighting the new ATLAS advanced NEO warning system in Hawaii.
On March 24 renowned lunar expert and lunar photographer Robert Reeves will visit from Texas. Don’t miss this very special evening, arranged by FOTO board member Tom Schleif.
