Tim Gill is the Director of Curriculum and Instruction for Konocti Unified School District.  As a mathematics education specialist Tim Gill has a long-term interest in Taylor Observatory. Tim served as supervisor for the Director of Taylor from 2009 to 2015,  facilitator of student field trips to Taylor and organizer of numerous professional development opportunities for Lake County educators.  He served as a mathematics teacher at the Middletown, CA. High School for eleven years, as a Mathematics Specialist at Sonoma County Department of Education and then as Senior Director for Educational Services at Lake County Office of Education.  Tim’s degree in mathematics plus a developing interest in amateur astronomy and the history of astronomy have qualified him as a Taylor lecturer on such diverse topics as Einstein’s theory of general relativity, the observation of gravitational waves, and the role of astronomy in the classic 18^th century scientific problem determining longitude.
